A Simple Promise
Relativ is built by Sad Turtle in San Francisco, California
The app helps you
decide what to
wear without profiling you. We only capture what is needed to fetch weather data and continue to
deliver an outstanding user experience. We comply with Apple and California privacy rules, but
more importantly, we respect you as a user
Information We Handle
Apple's privacy label for Relativ reads:
- Data Used to Track You: None
- Data Linked to You: None
- Data Not Linked to You: Approximate Location and Diagnostics
Under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) this maps to identifiers
(device ID), coarse location (rounded coordinates), and diagnostic data
(performance metrics)
- Approximate location: Used only while the app is open. Weather requests use
4 decimal latitude/longitude precision for accuracy (≈ 0.007 miles). Request logs store coordinates
rounded to 2 decimals (≈ 0.7 miles) for privacy. You can skip location
entirely and enter cities manually
- Saved cities & preferences: Stored locally on your device. They never touch
our servers
- Request logs: When our Cloudflare Worker proxies a weather request we log
the privacy-preserving 2-decimal location (~0.7 miles), partial device ID (first 8 characters),
user type (free/premium), app version, timestamp, cache status, and
response time. These logs help us detect abuse and debug outages, and are
automatically deleted after 30 days
- Diagnostics: Apple's MetricKit provides aggregated, anonymized
crash and
performance reports to help us improve app stability. These reports do not
include precise location or personally identifiable information
- Advertising (AdMob): The free, ad-supported mode loads Google AdMob, which
may receive coarse device information, app usage context, and IP address for fraud
prevention and measurement. If you grant tracking permission, AdMob also receives the
Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for personalized ads. We do not send AdMob any
extra profile data. Choosing the Premium tier disables ads entirely and prevents AdMob
from loading.
Retention, Security & Service Providers
- Cloudflare Worker logs automatically roll off within 30 days.
- MetricKit summaries stay for up to 90 days so we can fix stability issues.
- No central user database exists, so there is nothing to "export" or re-identify.
- Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS and only the developer can view diagnostics.
- Service providers:
- Cloudflare (proxy + logs)
- Visual Crossing (weather data)
- Google AdMob (ads in free tier only - they receive only what is necessary to render
and measure an ad in accordance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency controls)
Your Rights
If you live in California or another region with similar protections you may:
- Ask what limited data we hold about your device and how we use it
- Request deletion of logs we still retain, unless we need them to prevent abuse
- Request corrections if something we have is inaccurate
- Confirm that we do not sell or share personal data (we do not)
You can also opt out of AdMob's use of IDFA by denying Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt
or upgrading to Premium, which disables ads entirely.
Email relativ@sadturtle.com with "Privacy Request"
in the subject. We may ask for a randomly generated device identifier to confirm the request. We
respond within 45 days and never retaliate for asking.
Kids, International Use & Updates
The app is designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If you believe a child submitted data, contact us and we will delete it.
Relativ operates from the United States. If you use the app elsewhere you consent to your data
being processed in the U.S. or wherever our providers run infrastructure.
When this policy changes we update the date above and explain the change in release notes.
